Device Developed to Enable Work While Sleeping

The company Prophetic has developed a headband device called Halo that allows people to work while they sleep. The device is designed to trigger lucid dreaming, enabling users to become aware that they are dreaming and take control of the experience. Prophetic describes Halo as a “non-invasive neurostimulation device that provides the ultimate open-ended environment for problem-solving.” According to the company, the only limiting factor is the user’s imagination.

The device aims to activate the dreaming state using focused ultrasound signals. The company’s founder, Eric Wollberg, claims this could later allow workers to conduct demos or engage in creative problem-solving for complex tasks. Prophetic has already raised over $1 million for the development of the headband and is reportedly working with one of the designers of Elon Musk’s Neuralink device.

Prophetic is not the first company to promise lucid dreaming capabilities, but so far, no other company has successfully delivered a product that consistently provides this experience to consumers. According to Fortune magazine, Halo is expected to launch in 2025 with a price range of $1,500 to $2,000, and customers can reserve a unit with a $100 deposit.
