Smart Skin Technology Turns Your Hands Into a Keyboard

Researchers at Stanford University in California have developed a technology that could completely eliminate the need for physical keyboards in the future. The new technology was demonstrated in a study published in Nature Electronics.

This system allows you to type on computers without the need for any physical keyboard, using just a spray applied to your skin. Scientists explain that this technology isn’t limited to keyboards; it can also be used for smartphone apps. The system, aided by machine learning, can determine which part of the keyboard you’re pressing and track your movements, thus eliminating the need for a physical keyboard.

The researchers note that the spray is made from a material that can bend and move with the skin. This material is equipped with sensors that detect your movements and send them to the artificial intelligence. In essence, you’re typing on an invisible, virtual keyboard with your hands, and the system then predicts what you’ve written.
